Rotimi salami 

Rotimi Salami is a fast rising Nollywood actor, producer, director, writer, set designer, television personality, entrepreneur and the chief executive officer (CEO) of Monski Media Concept. He is very handsome, gifted, creative, skillful and talented in acting and interpretation of movie roles and can fit in any character given to him by movie directors and producers.

Rotimi Salami is originally from Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria. He completed both his primary and secondary school education in Lagos State, Nigeria and obtained both his Firs School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.

After completing his primary and secondary school education, Rotimi Salami proceeded to Lagos State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. After obtaining his first degree, Rotimi Salami proceeded to New York Film Academy in the United States of America and obtained a Diploma in Film Directing.

He started acting right from his primary school days and was an active member of the drama club. He delved into acting professionally and joined the Nigeria movie industry (Nollywood) in 2007 after he realized that he has deep passion for acting. From 2007, he started going for auditions relentlessly until he finally got his first role in a movie titled “Unknown Revenge”. After which he got another role in a television series titled “Shangisha Kingdom” a film produced by Ola Razak, who is currently the chief executive officer (CEO) of Cobweb Audiovisual Production.

Rotimi Salami has acted in several Nollywood movies and television series which include Kuti’s Career Palace, Tinsel, Emerald, Super Story, Silent night,  Dear Mother, Bella’s Place, Unknown Revenge, Leave My Boyfriend, 11th Hour, About to Wed, One Love, This life, Papa Ajasco, Cascade, Crack in the Wall, Alan Poza, etc. He is one of the most gifted, most creative, most skillful and most talented actors in Nigeria. 

 

Apart from acting, Rotimi Salami is also a professional Nollywood movie producer and director. After obtaining a Diploma in Directing from New York Film Academy in 2010, Rotimi Salami produced and directed a television sitcom titled “Kuti’s Career Palace” which happens to be a hilarious story based on the general career challenges in all stages of life especially in Africa.

It airs on 7 major states in Nigeria and got high ranking in terms of viewership and reviews from movie lovers and critics. In 2014, the film earned him a nomination for Best Film at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards. In 2012, he produced and directed two short films titled “Letter to my Mother” and “Beautiful World”.

He is a visionary person, very ambitious, talented, gifted, focus driven, hardworking, adventurous, determined and has a strong willed. He is always positive minded even in the face of millions trials and challenges because he believes God will always grant him the wisdom to excel above all his trails and become victorious. He is so talented and has touched almost every arm of filmmaking and finally sums them up and describes himself with one word a Filmmaker.

According to him, he intends to be able to use his film production company to educate and create job opportunities in the entertainment industry for passionate actors and aspiring filmmakers, while adding financial and commercial value to every life touched, he intends to affect the public positively with high quality film productions and stories.

Rotimi Salami in the cause of his acting career has won several awards which include Best Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Most Promising Act to Watch at the City People Entertainment Awards.
